Evalene Parsons

May 30, 1921 — February 4, 2017

Evalene (Pope) Parsons was a native of Blue Ridge, Georgia. She was born to Blaine and Elizabeth (Patterson) Pope on May 30, 1921. Although she hailed from Georgia, she also called Ohio and Texas home throughout her life. As a young woman, she married James A. Dills and raised their five children in Ohio. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, two young siblings, her young son Charles Dills and her eldest daughter, Barbara (Dills) Guello along with the love of her life, her husband, Clay " Newt" Parsons. Evalene went home to be with our Lord on Feb 4, 2017 following injuries sustained from a car crash in Texas. She is survived by daughter Dorothy (Dills) Lorence of Clear Lake, Texas, eldest son, James K. and wife Val Dills of Massillon, Ohio and son, Ronnie Dills of Pasadena, Texas along with her brother Ray Pope of High Point, North Carolina. She also left behind nine beautiful grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew along with her beloved Yorkie terrier. At 95 years "young", Evalene enjoyed traveling back and forth visiting her family and friends. She was loved by all and her love and zest for life will be sorely missed.
