Leo Hesson

August 23, 1920 — December 8, 2015

Minister Leo D. Hesson, age 95 of Young Harris, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Leo was a minister in the Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Hiawassee Church of Christ. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the European Theatre and in India. He had lived in Young Harris for the past 30 years, moving from College Park, GA. Leo was preceded in death by his wife Norma.

Survivors include his daughter, Joy Hesson of Young Harris, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Russ Magowan of Winder, daughter, Jacquie Faucett of Duluth, Brother, Bob Hesson of Ohio, grandson, Rusty Magowan of Hoschton, granddaughter, Mary Sulava of Alpharetta, grandson, Danny Magowan of Duluth, and granddaughter, Suzannah Smith of Lawrenceville. Leo is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, Marissa, Sarah, Zachary, Bonnie, Matthew, Joshua and Adam. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 12th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Minister Jere Via officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hills Memory Gardens with the North Georgia Honor Guard providing military honors.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m Saturday at Cochran Funeral Home.
