Walter Edward Panter

Mr. Walter Edward Panter, age 79 of McCaysville, Georgia, passed away December 27, 2012 at Copper Basin Medical Center. Edward was born in Morganton, Georgia on July 5, 1933 to the late Walter L Panter and the late Bertha Ward Panter. He was a retired machinist who was employed at the City Service Company in Copperhill, TN Edward loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, farming and growing fruit trees. He was a member of the McCaysville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: son Eddie (Gwen) Panter, son, Greg (Judy) Panter, brother, James (Freddie)Panter, granddaughter Kristin (James) Allen, grandson Chad (Megan) Panter, granddaughter, Kellie (Daniel) Postell, grandson, Tyler Akers, grandson, Colby Panter;, great grandchildren, Lola Panter, Brecken and Ethan Panter, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the McCaysville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Harry Gilbert, and Mr. Ed Vest and Pianist Katie Gilbert. Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Panter, Chad Panter, Tyler Akers, James Allen, Anthony Rose, and Darren Rose.Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Postell conducting the service. Mr. Panter will lie-in-state at the church for one hour before the service.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
