Zelda Gentry

Mrs. Zelda Gentry, age 99 of Murphy, passed away August 7, 2016 at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Mrs. Gentry was born August 31, 1916 in Cherokee Co, NC to the late Festus Davis and the late Ella Wilson Davis. A member of Hanging Dog Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by father, Festus Davis, mother, Ella Wilson Davis, husband, Burton Gentry, daughter Jane P. Gentry, brothers, Wiley Davis, Verl Davis, Jim Davis, Paul Davis, Void Davis, Howard Davis, sisters, Cordie Davis Conner, Callie Gentry and Wilda Farner, grand-son, Jeffrey Gentry.

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Berlon (Shirley) Gentry, son & daughter-in-law, Jack (Carole) Gentry, son & daughter-in-law, Melvin (Ruthie) Gentry, daughter & son-in-law, Marie (Dennis) Dockery, son, Wayne P. Gentry, son, David (Kathy) Gentry, brothers, Vernon Davis, Loren Davis, sister, Wanda Kephart, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services: Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Hanging Dog Baptist Church with the Rev. Ned Golden officiating. Music by the Golden Sisters. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Aaron Gentry, Christian Gentry, Christopher Carrigan, Jerry Gentry, Joey Gentry And Dennis Dockery.
