From the beginning of recorded time, white doves have symbolized purity, holiness and love. They have been protected in temples and palaces around the world and found throughout divinity. The Bible tells us that Noah released a dove after the great flood and it returned with an olive branch symbolizing new life. And again in the New Testament we find that when John baptized Jesus, scripture says the Holy Spirit descended upon our Lord in the form of a dove.
The doves released will symbolize loved ones who have passed before. As they soar toward the heavens and a single remaining dove will be released representing the spirit of your loved one. They will all join together in the air and fly home, helping bring peace and closure. The doves are trained to know their way home, just as all Christians know our way home to heaven.
