Annie Mae McConnell Morgan, 79 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home after a short illness..

She was born March 12, 1931 in Union County, GA and lived there most of her life. She was the daughter of Burley Clifford and Lillie Beaver McConnell and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter, making and selling many beautiful quilts. She loved flower and vegetable gardening, canning hundreds of jars of fresh produce every year. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister & brother-in-law, Paralee & Dock Nation, brother, Porter McConnell and brother-in-law, Edward Morrison.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, William Homer Morgan, daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Gary Wilson of Greenville, NC, son & daughter-in-law, Tom & Sheila Morgan of Hilton Head, SC, sister & brother-in-law, Leona & Clayton Dowell of Brevard, NC, brother & sister-in-law, Clifford "Shorty" & Thelma Twiggs McConnell of Acworth, GA, sister, Mary Nell Morrison of Marietta, GA, granddaughter, Julie Wilson Johnson of Garner, NC, granddaughter, Lori Wilson Herring of Newton Grove, NC, grandson, Shane Morgan of Zanesville, OH, grandson, Erik Morgan of Hilton Head, SC, great grandchildren, Gage Herring, Brayden Herring, Sammy Johnson, Donovan James Morgan and Aiden Morgan, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady Ray officiating. Music will be provided by, Martha Davenport, Shirley Burton and Barbara Newman. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Joe Bridges, Nicky Cornette, Charles Hunter, Doug Mason, Neil McConnell and Chris Nation. Honorary pallbearers include: David Cook, Cas Gunter, Joe Janicki and George Parker.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 09, 2010 from 6-9:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, Blairsville, GA.
