Betty Ruth Whitener (Neal)

Mrs. Betty Ruth Whitener, age 76 of Blue Ridge, passed away September 19, 2012 at the Erlanger Medical Center. Mrs. Whitener was born April 13, 1936 in Fannin Co., GA to the late Claude Neal and the late Nola Owenby Neal. A member of theYoung Chapel Baptist Church, she enjoyed gardening flowers and caring for her dog Babe. She also enjoyed spending time and taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: husband, James Whitener, son, James (Martha) Whitener, son, Kelly Whitener, son, Randy Whitener, sister, Carolyn Pickett, sister, Mary Lois Thomas, grandchildren, Greg and Becky Harkins, Kevin and Lisa Whitener Kenneth and Heather Allen, Brandon Whitener, Eric and Alex Whitener, Adam and Kristen Weaver, Bailei Whitener and Joshua Whitener also, seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Kevin Whitener, Brandon Whitener, Eric Whitener, Joshua Whitener, Eric Payne and Dillon Watkins.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
