Mrs. Billie Sue Thomas, age 70 of Morganton, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 with her family by her side. Mrs. Thomas was born April 7, 1944 in Towns County, GA to the late Luther and Flora Smith Bright. A member of the Hemptown Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by son, Robert Thomas, Jr., daughter, Barbara Ann Thomas, and sister, Bertha Jones. Billie Sue worked as a court bailiff for Fannin County for many years. She enjoyed flowers and working in the yard. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include loving husband, Robert Thomas, son, Russell (Angie) Thomas, son, Roger (Deana) Thomas, son, Ricky (Christie) Thomas, twin brother, Bobby Bright, brother, Riley Bright, sister, Mary Frances Bright, brother, Danny Bright, eight grandchildren, Tyler, Tony, Taylor, April, Andrea, Casey, Cody and Evan.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Adams and Rev. Eric Davenport officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Monday, July 7, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
