Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Birdelle Tritt Lunsford, age 93, of Suches, Georgia, who passed away Monday evening, September 20, 2010 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, Georgia.
Mrs. Lunsford was born in Union County, Georgia, on August 29, 1917, a daughter of the late William Barton Tritt and Pearl Davis Tritt. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, and a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Suches. Mrs. Lunsford had been preceded in death by her husband, Willie G. Lunsford, in 1992; siblings: Melvin Tritt, Clyde Tritt, Ruby Pierce, Clarence Tritt, and Trevia Nell Barton.
Surviving family members include son and daughter-in-law, Jim Donald and Jane Gooch Lunsford, of Gainesville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Bud Braddock, of Suches, Georgia; siblings: Grace Robertson, Rev. Donald Tritt, Ella Mae Beech, and Jean Edge. Three grandchildren and their spouses: Tracy and Tom Braun, Paige and Evelyn Braddock, and Gueth and Sherri Braddock; two great grandchildren: Zachary Robert Owen and Rebecca Jane Owen; three great grandchildren: Claire Tinkler, Sarah Tinkler, and Chandler Tinkler.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, with Rev. Clarence Drummond officiating. The body will be instate at the church starting at 1:30 p.m. on the day of the service. Brenda Brookshire will lead the congregation in singing church hymns. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers and should please assemble at the funeral home no later than 12:30 p.m.: Ken Carlisle, Tim Carlisle, Charlie Dobson, Gueth Braddock, Don Pruitt, and Jeff Edge. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday evening, after 6 p.m., with the family especially meeting with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
