Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mr. Bobby Kelley, 70, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away on Sunday, August 9th, 2020 in Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, Georgia.

Mr. Kelley was born in Young Harris, Georgia, a son of the late Charlie Kelley and the late Sue Walker Kelley. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Union County, Georgia, and a member of House of Prayer Church, and served in many areas there. He had served as Choir Director, a Trustee, and was a Past Director of Canal Lake Bible Camp. Mr. Kelley taught school in Union County Primary and Middle School, and later on served as Principal at those schools. He was also a beloved coach of basketball, baseball, and an assistant coach in football. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Kelley.

Family members that will treasure the memory of Bobby include his loving wife, Denise McJunkin Kelley; son, Barry Edward Kelley, and daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Mark McKeever, all of Blairsville; Brothers: Garry (Christa) Kelley, and David (Lisa) Kelley, all of Blairsville; sisters: Gail Smith of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Polly Chapman of Blairsville; two grandchildren: Kel Crawford and Leyton McKeever; many other relatives and friends also survive.

Private family funeral services due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be held. Those services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 11th, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., to be held at House of Prayer Church, with Pastor Jerry Helton officiating. Social distancing will be in practice at the service. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Grant Kelley, Grahm Kelley, Joel Kelley, Thomas Chapman, Will Chapman, Dot Chapman, Kel Crawford, Matthew Mashburn, Jordan Keough, and Kendall White. Burial will be in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

No public visitation is scheduled due to community concerns regarding COVID-19.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to: Canal Lake Bible Camp, 1400 Pat Colwell Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
