Bonnie Lou Johnson

January 3, 1938 — November 1, 2015

Mrs. Bonnie Lou Johnson, age 77, of Murphy, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home. Mrs. Johnson was born January 3, 1938 in Lyburn, WV, to the late Golden Huffman and the late Bertha Lucas Huffman. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the adult Choir. She was preceded in death by brother, Golden Huffman, Jr. and husband, Talmadge "Pete" Johnson.

Survivors include: son, George Shelton, sisters, Barbara (Bert) Copper, Patricia Caudill and Helen (Andy) Bennett-Sorrells, several loving, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Karnes and Rev. Keith Blalock officiating. Music provided by Tammy Shope. Interment will follow in the Ledford Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl Ware, Bryan Kilpatrick, Lucas Kilpatrick, Mathew Kilpatrick, Chad Satterfield and Austin Satterfield. The body will be instate at the church at 1:00 pm Thursday.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, Wednesday, November 4, 2015, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
