Mr. Boyd E. Smith, age 90 of Young Harris, GA, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at North East Georgia Medical Center.
Boyd was born Wednesday, April 3, 1918 in Towns County, Georgia to the late Millard Hamilton Smith and the late Mary Ada Rhinehardt Smith. He was a member of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge Hialeah-Opa Locka #391 F&AM and a WWII Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by wife, Eunice Williams Smith, grandson, James Smith and a brother, Paul Smith.
Survivors include: son, Ronald Smith of Brisban, CA, son, Dale Smith of Blue Ridge, GA, sister, Melvina Hayes of Shelby, MI, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darris Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 P.M., Tuesday, November 11.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
