Carelene May Morris

Mrs. Carelene Morris, age 90, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at her home.
She started nursing in 1962, in northern Ohio. In 1965 she became a surgical nurse for Elyria Memorial Hospital and participated in some of the first open heart surgeries in the U.S. In 1976, Mrs. Morris moved to Hiawassee and joined Towns County Hospital as a nurse, then later a surgery nurse, and then before retiring in 1999, she was department manager of the central supply at Towns County Hospital. From 1999 through 2002, Mrs. Morris worked for North Georgia Technical College in their adult education department.
Mrs. Morris is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Williams (Michael) of Lubbock, Texas; her son, Chris Morris of Hiawassee, Georgia, and son, Earl Morris, of Ray City, Georgia.
