Dana Scot Strickland, age 46 of Murphy, NC, formally of Mableton, GA died Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Dana was born June 27, 1970 in Cordele, GA to Stephen R. Strickland and the late B. Diane Rooks Strickland. During his younger years, Dana was active in Boy Scouts. In his spare time he enjoyed mountain climbing, repelling, camping and hiking. Dana worked as a rigger most of his life.
Dana is survived by his wife, Valerie Curtis Soph, father, Stephen (Jennie), brother, Gregory, sister, Elizabeth (Jacob) Rozich, and one niece, Adeline Rozich.
Services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Bethany Baptist Church in McDonough, GA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to BSA (Boy Scouts of America), American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or a charity of your choice.
