The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for Mr. Don Ledford, age 62 of Young Harris who passed away Wednesday morning, October 24,2012 at his home.
Mr. Ledford was born in Clayton, Georgia on September 13, 1950 to the late Taft & Bonnie Garrett Ledford. Don owned and operated Ledford Concrete. He loved people and was loved by all who knew him. He held dear to him many friends. He was always there to lend a hand. A quiet person by nature, He never complained and was known for staying positive. Don loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anna Lou Allen, Francis McPherson, Doris Jones and Teresa Bannard and brothers, Grover and James Ledford.
Don will be remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: loving wife of 36 years, Margaret Ledford; daughter, Brooke Ledford; sister, Hilda Parker; brother, Glenn Ledford and many extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Hiawassee with Rev. Johnny Barrett and Rev. Mikey Youngblood officiating. Musical Tribute will be presented by The Barrett Family, Julia Youngblood, John Taylor & Sadie Sullens and Logan Sosebee. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Mike Carol, Michael Parker, Charles Ledford, Ben Brown, Jimmy Sullens, Timothy Sullens, Mike Neace and Sam Ledford. Honorary Escort to the family will include: Damian Burch, Toby Brown, Charles Allen, Shawn McPherson, Kenny Ledford and Anthony Brown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, October 26 from 6 until 9 pm.
