Ellen Louise Anderson (Baldwin)

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces memorial services for Mrs. Ellen Louise Anderson, age 71, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Thursday morning, June 13, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Anderson was born on January 28, 1942 in Quincy, Massachusetts to the late Henry & Mary Dolan Baldwin. She served the city of Pembroke, MA with dedication as a Municipal Administrative Assistant until her retirement. Ellen had a strong Christian faith and was an active member of Coosa United Methodist Church. There she enjoyed fellowship with members of her church family working with crafts as a Coosa Crafter. She was a member of the Iota Iota Kappa Sorority in Blairsville and also the Misty Mountain Quilt Guild. Gifted with a pleasant nature and a passion to serve, Ellen never turned down an opportunity to help others. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathleen McLeer.

She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: loving husband of 34 years, Harold Anderson; son, George Melanson; daughters, Maureen Channell, Donna Diaz and Gail Melanson; step-children, Deborah Colanino, Cheryl Malone and Phillip Anderson; and brother, James Baldwin. 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also share in her legacy.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from Coosa United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy Watkins officiating.
