Elva Payne, 94 years old of Murphy, N.C. died at her residence August 18, 2009.
She was born in Cherokee County, N.C. daughter of the late Lonzo Harris and Dixie Wallace Harris.
She attended Hopewell Baptist Church, she was a homemaker and loved cooking for friends and family.
Surviving are: daughter & son-in-law, Katherine & Johnnie Burrell, daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Bill Tipton, son, Paul Payne, son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Linda Payne, grandchildern, Bradley Burrell, Diana Sneed, Donna Tipton-Rogers, Paula Kukulinski, Jon Payne, David Payne, Robert Payne, great-grandchildern; Joshua Burrell, Jason Burrell, Ethan Sneed, Evan Sneed, Bryson Sneed, Torin Rogers, Lochlan Rogers, Payne & Clarie Kukulinski, Rylie Payne, Sydney Payne, Brinkley Payne, Ryan Payne, Tyler Payne, great-great-grandchildern; Lauren Burrell, Joshua Burrell, Jr., devoted loving neice & care giver, Linda Kilpatrick, devoted loving care giver, Margaret Lewis, sisters; Betty Smith, Anna Bell Hughes, nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Milton Payne.
Friends will be received Thursday, August 20, 2009 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the at the Cochran Funeral Home, Murphy, NC.
Services will be held Friday, August 21,2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Hopewell Baptist Church with Reverend Aud Brown and Pastor Bill Maughan officiating. Serving as pallbearers are: Bradley Burrell, Jon Payne, David Payne, Robert Payne, Joshua Burrell.
Interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery.
