She was born in Fannin County, GA, daughter of Charles Atley Hawkins and Elizabeth Bell Hawkins. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Harold Helton, father Charles Atley Hawkins, mother Elizabeth Hawkins, sister, Imogene Helton and sister, Rosalee Hawkins. Ethelene worked as a Sewing Machine laborer for Clothing Manufacture.
Surviving are son & daughter-in-law, Kenneth Charles & Dena Helton, son & daughter-in-law, Jeffery Lynn & Debbie Helton, daughter & son-in-law, Teresa & Richard Carpenter, six grandchildren & spouses, twelve great-grandchildren, brother, Charles Hawkins, brother, Clifford Hawkins, brother, Robert (Bob) Hawkins, brother, Frank (Ben) Hawkins, brother, Lee Roy Hawkins, sister, Kathy McClure, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers; Mark Falls, Gordon Hall, Daniel Cash, Brian Barclay, Willie Stewart, David Hawkins. Honorary Pallbearers; Matthew McClure, Denny Hawkins, Ed Hawkins, Mike Hawkins, Tim Hawkins, Kevin Hawkins, Mark Mong & Eddie Helton.
Friends will be received at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, GA., Thursday, August, 20, 2009 from 5:00-9:00pm
Services will be held at 1:00pm in the Henry Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, August, 21, 2009 with Rev. Tully Griggs & Rev. Eric Waters officiating. Music will be by Tammy Caylor, Phillip Thomas, Lisa McFarland and Missy Hooper. Interment will follow in the New Liberty Church Cemetery with Rev. Roy Clore officiating.
