Frances Nicholson Hunnicutt

The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances Nicholson Hunnicutt, age 96 of Hiawassee who passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018.
Mrs. Hunnicutt was born on December 10, 1921 in Tate City, Georgia to the late Sylvester and Edith (Owens) Nicholson. She was a faithful member of Bell Scene Baptist Church. Most of her life was dedicated to being a homemaker, raising her family. For many years though, Frances worked as an Egg Candler for both C.L Young and then Kimsey's Egg Service. Most weekends after work, she and her husband, Bill, could be found going on a camping adventure. She loved to camp and trout fish. Her other hobbies include cooking, gardening, growing flowers, and quilting.
She will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughters, Patricia Graham of Gastonia, NC and Jacqueline (Nelson) Chastain of Hiawassee; sons, Terry (Stella) Hunnicutt of Auburn, GA; Ricky (Deborah) Hunnicutt of Tignall, GA, and Keith Hunnicutt of Hiawassee; brother, Hughlon Nicholson of Gastonia, NC; sisters, Willene Parker and Roberta Huffstickler both of Gastonia, NC. Also, sharing in her legacy are 16 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Bill Hunnicutt; son-in-law, John Graham; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Frances's Grandson, Rev. Travis Hunnicutt officiating. Special music will be presented by grandson, Randy Graham and Great Grandson Brandon Graham. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 until the service begins. Her grandsons have the honor to serve as pallbearers: Steffon Chastain, Stan Chastain, Michael Chastain, Chris Hunnicutt, Rodney Graham, and Reggie Graham. Honorary Pallbearers are Tyler Graham, Keaton Dodd, Kaden Biddle, Matthew Chastain, Connor Chastain, Blake Graham, Alex Graham, Matthew Roam, and Drew McCuen. Burial will be in Lower Bell Creek Cemetery.
