George Frederick LaMont

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces Cremation Services for George Frederick LaMont.

George F. LaMont died on October 12, 2015. After a period of declining health he died. He was age 78. He was born in Boca Raton, Florida, the fifth child of John and Mary LaMont, on November 11, 1936.
He is survived by wife, Stephany LaMont, son, Gregory and wife, Holly, son, Glenn and wife, Leslie, daughter, Dawn and husband, Mark. Five grandchildren.
He was a police officer for the City of Boca Raton, FL for 26 years and ended his career at the rank of Lieutenant. He also a Revenue officer for the IRS.
He graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a BBA(accounting) in March, 1974.
He loved to play softball and did so into his 70's. He, also, loved to plant things and watch them grow.
The family received friends at Cochran Funeral Home on Friday morning at 10 am. Cremation will follow at Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville.
