Gladys Henrietta Smith (Welch)

Mrs. Gladys Henrietta Smith, age 95 of Morganton, passed away August 4, 2012 in High Point, NC. Gladys was born July 2, 1917 in Fannin County, GA to James and Elizabeth Chastain Welch. A member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents James & Elizabeth Welch, husband Carl Smith, son, James A. Foster, five siblings; Birdey Jenkins, Addis Gordon, Hazel Cox, Willie Weeks, Horace Welch.

Survivors include two children; Joan A. Phillips of Oak Ridge, TN. and Felder Foster of High Point, NC, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Requested Pallbearers are Chris & Carl Phillips, Craig & Brian Foster, Donnie James & Junior Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Davis and Cliff Weeks.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on the day of the service from 1:00 until service at 3:00pm.
