Mr. Grady Charles Dotson, age 69, of McCaysville, GA, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Gwinnett County. Mr. Dotson was born Sunday, October 15, 1939 in Gilmer County, GA to the late Thomas Dotson and the late Mattie Jewel Miller Dotson. Grady was a member of First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill. He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Kenneth Dotson.

Survivors include: wife, Pat Kovsky Dotson of Mc Caysville, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Melissa Dotson of Alpharetta, GA, son & daughter-in-law, John & Carrie Dotson of Tunnel Hill, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Jack & Mindy Dotson of Tunnel Hill, GA, step-daughter and husband, Cyndi & Brenton Cox of Manchester, TN, step-daughter & husband, Caryl & Rusty Whittenbarger of McCaysville, GA, brother & sister-in-law, Paul & Debra Dotson of Woodstock, GA, brother & sister-in-law, David & Jo Dotson of Dalton, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Gladys & Weyman Spivey of Ellijay, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Pauline & Jim Price of Ellijay, GA, sister-in-law, Yvonne Dotson of Ellijay, GA, twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill with the Reverend Garry Barber and Dr. Brenton Cox officiating. Music will be provided by Reverend Harry Gilbert. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Bob Kilpatrick, Bob Welch, Tom Foster, Robert Arp, Fred Barandhuber, Don Loudermilk, and Andre Collins. Honorary pallbearers include: Bob Kilpatrick Sunday School Class, Paul Greene, Jimmy Helton, Ed Millsaps, Raymond Montgomery, Morris Queen, Leroy Rigdon, John Way, Robert K. Ballew, Dennis Queen, Frank Henson, Donnie Jones, and Kenneth Johnson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from , 6-9:00 pm Wednesday, December 10.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to First Baptist Church of McCaysville Foreign Misson Fund .

The Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
