Greta Hill Jones

Mrs. Greta Hill Jones, age 82 of McCaysville, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Greta was born January 20, 1933 in Fannin County, GA to the late Murphy "Chris" Briant and the late Reathea Hill Briant. A member of Kingtown Baptist Church in McCaysville, she was preceded in death by her parents, and twin brothers, George and Clifford Briant. She worked many years for Levi Strauss and also for Georgia Highlands Center for Mental Health. In her spare time she enjoyed going square dancing with her husband, Devaughn.

Survivors include loving husband, DeVaughn Jones, daughter, Janet (David) Ballew, three sisters, Virginia Bradham, Mary McCollough and Kay Cook, one brother, Milton Briant, two grandchildren, Robin Ballew and Tammy Bowling and two great-grandchildren, Robert Ballew and Evan Bowling. Also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Gilbert officiating. Music provided by Jimmy Helton. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers will be Greta's nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the First Baptist Church of McCaysville, P.O. Box 867, McCaysville, GA 30555.
