Gussie Shook Huffman, age 77, of Woodland, AL, formerly of Hiawassee died Wednesday, March 24, 2010
She was born January 4, 1933 in Hiawassee, GA, to the late Roosevelt and Ida Ramey Shook. She was a member of Eastern Star #446 Riverdale and had worked as a Bus Driver for Marta. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ketron Shook.
Surviving are her daughter & son-in-law, Deborah and Frank Sprayberry of Woodland, AL, daughter & son-in-law, Karen and Marvin Davenport of Trinity, NC, daughter & son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Macintyre of Randleman, NC, daughter & son-in-law, Cheryl and Thomas Freeman of Sophia, NC, daughter & son-in-law, Denise and Greg Hall of Jefferson, GA, son, Donald Huffman of Orlando, FL, sisters, Gertrude Akins and Nellie Ashe both of Trinity, NC, brother, Carroll Shook of Wenatchee, WA, nine grandchildren and elevn great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27 at 11 A.M., at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, Hiawassee with Rev. Carlin Phillips and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Music will be provided by Lila Phillips. Serving as pallbearers are: Anthony Sprayberry, Chris Sprayberry, Jason Hendrix, Greg Hall, Marvin Davenport and Thomas Freeman. Interment will follow in Burch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 26, 2010 from 6-9 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, Hiawassee, GA.
