Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Gwendolyn Justus, age 68, of Blairsville, who passed away on Tuesday morning, October 4, 2016.

Mrs. Justus was born May 25, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late John Harmon Pye and Elizabeth Jane (Hunter) Pye. Gwen devoted her life to her family, loving each child and grandchild unconditionally. Her wish was for each to know the important role they held in her heart. She was smart and had a beautiful sense of humor. A very talented homemaker, the family will cherish memories of gathering around to table to eat the best biscuits ever made or feast on the turkey and dressing during the holidays.

Gwen will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughters, Ramona Montgomery (Greg Winfrey) and Elizabeth Thomason (Timothy); sisters, Margaret Pye and Clara Samples; grandchildren, LeShay Black (Clinton), Ashley Richardson (Alec), Lessie Montgomery, John Denny, Andrew Powers, Ayanna Ransom, Alyssia Ransom, Aaliyah Ransom, Lauren Thomason, Aiden Thomason, Kayla Gwen Thomason, Liam Thomason, and Addie Mae Thomason. Also, sharing in her legacy are great grandchildren, Cashton, Liam Taylor, and Ashton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hayward Justus; her sons, Michael Branton Johnson and Charles Allen Cato; her parents; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
