Henrietta D. Mcelroy

Henrietta D. McElroy, age 90 of Murphy, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008 at her home. Henrietta was born Friday, June 21, 1918 in Charleston, SC to the late Henry Durden and the late Rutilla Montgomery Durden. She was a member of Grape Creek Baptist Church enjoyed gardening and flowers. She had retired after many years of running of the Triple J Restaurant in Hollister Fla.

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Sandra Matheny of Murphy, son & daughter-in-law, John William & Cathy Matheny of Williamston, SC, son & daughter-in-law, Gerald Henry & Liz Matheny of Okeechobee, Fla., sister, Nadine Thames of Palatka, Fla., nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 2:00PM from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Deacon Maynard Hogsed and Reverend Aud Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Grape Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
