Inez Gray Queen
October 15, 1928 — February 20, 2009
Mrs. Inez Adelaide Queen, age 83, of Epworth, GA, passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Inez was born Monday, October 15, 1925 in Polk County, TN to the late Anderson Gray and the late Lula Pearl Porter Gray. She member of member of Mobile Baptist Church.
During World War II Inez worked at Oak Ridge Laboratory on a top secret project, before returning back to the area. She was very active in Church with the WMU and in the Shut-In Ministry, going to homes and the nursing homes. Inez enjoyed fishing in her younger days, crocheting and quilting. She also loved chocolate candy. Inez was devoted to her family, church, and the needs of the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Queen.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Danny & Gayle Queen of Epworth, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Dennis & Becky Queen of Douglasville, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Wanda & Donald Stewart of Epworth, GA.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Thrasher, Reverend Claude Mathis, and Reverend Jimmy Cheatam officiating. Music will be provided by Ed Vest, Patsy Beavers and Jan Pelfrey. Interment will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Daniel Stewart, Darrell Stewart, Derek Stewart, Jarod Mathis, Tony Whatley, and Ricky Patterson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-9:00 PM, Sunday, February 22.
Flower arrangements will be excepted, or you may make
a donation to Mobile Baptist Church, 4971 Mobile Road, McCaysville, GA 30555.
