J.E. Hutson

Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Jay Erwin “J.E.” Hutson, age 77 of Blairsville who passed away on Tuesday November 24th, 2020.
Mr. Hutson was born on April 12th, 1943 in Union County to the late Elbert and Lorene (Reece) Hutson. J.E. was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era. He is preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Hutson and his brother, Larry Hutson.

J.E. is survived by his wife, Betty Hutson of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Amy (Chad) Underwood of Blairsville; Nephews, Kevin Hutson and Brad Hutson; grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Lily, and Jonah Underwood.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday November 27th, 2020 from the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason “Homer” Helton and Rev. Jack Cochran officiating. Military graveside honors will be presented by the North Georgia Honor Guard. The following gentleman have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Noah Underwood, Eli Underwood, Brian Lance, Bobby Lance, Kevin Hutson, and Brad Hutson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonah Underwood, Tommy Holbrooks, and Mark Thomas.

There will be no visitation held at the funeral home.
