James Andrew Pestana

The Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory announces Memorial Services for Mr. James Andrew Pestana, age 51, of Hiawassee who passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 4, 2015.

He will be deeply missed by his two sons Andrew, age 21 and Brandon, age 19. Having retired at an early age James was able to spend time with his boys doing the things that Dad's and Boy's do best. They were his life and love. An avid hunter and fisherman, James enjoyed the woods and the water, specifically the ocean. As an accomplished mechanic, James was always ready to help in any way that he could. He also enjoyed his own cars and the pleasure that time under the hood can bring. James enjoyed big dogs, specifically the companionship over the years of his Mastiffs. His sons both said that he, "knew everything about everything and would talk to anyone about it"! He was a caring and honest man with a strong understanding of himself and a deep love of God. The boys enjoyed hearing the old stories that he would repeat over the years.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory: Sons, Andrew Adam Pestana and Brandon James Pestana; Three Sisters, Jill Frances Pestana, Julie Pestana Suarez, and Cindy Fay Spinning along with many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margie (Elam) Pestana.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. David Tinsley officiating.
