James Henry Sasser

Mr. James Henry Sasser, age 78 of Blairsville and Bowling Green, FL passed away October 16, 2015 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, FL. Mr. Sasser was born October 14, 1937 in Wachula, FL to Henry Clayton and Jeanette Fore Sasser. Jim worked for many years as and engineering inspector for the Florida Department of Transportation. He and his wife, Gloria, moved to Blairsville in 1986. Gloria passed away in march of 2010. Jim was a member of New Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Beth Sasser of Ft. Green, FL, son, Henry Sasser of Bradenton, FL, step-daughter and her husband, Sandra and Darryl Watson of Sarasota, FL, step-daughter and her husband, Terri and Bob Palmer of Orlando, FL, sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Charles Abbott of Wachula, FL, grandchildren, Randi(Daniel) Lanier, Anthony(Shyna) Sasser, Jimmy Sasser, Tammy Whidden, Nikki(Chris) May and David Palmer.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the New Union Baptist Church with Rev. Harrison Bradley and Dr. David Gowder officiating. Music will be provided by Charles Abbott and Lita Gowder. Interment will follow in the New Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Anthony Sasser, Jimmy Sasser, Kenny Hughes, Richard Long, Winston Chambers, and Curtis Cook.

The family will receive friends at the New Union Baptist Church of Blairsville, Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
