Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Mr. James Monroe Dills, age 78 of Marietta, GA formerly of Blairsville who passed away on Friday January 15th, 2021.
Mr. Dills was born on April 28th, 1942 to Willard and Ophelia (Kendall) Dills. James was born and raised in Union County and a graduate of Union County High School. He served his country honorably in the National Guard from 1964 to 1971. James retired from working in fiber optics for Nokia.
James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Dills; children, Rex (Kelly) Dills and Cynthia Dills; brother, Denny Dills; grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Darnell, Justin Dills, and Katie Baker; great-grandchildren, Lula, Colt, and Madison Darnell, Emmett and Emma Baker.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00pm on Monday January 18th, 2021 at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Morganton with Rev. Kenny Housley officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville.
