Janice Rae Baumgartner

Janice Rae Baumgartner, age 86, of Murphy, NC, passed away October 1, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Baumgartner was born August 23, 1932, in Los Angeles, CA, to the late Hoke Smith Norville and the late Mabel Gwendolyn Harrah Norville. Moving from Fallbrook, CA, Janice and her husband, Nicholas, had made Murphy, NC, their home for the past 16 years. Her main goal in life was taking care of her family. She is remembered by her family as a loving, supportive, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Nicholas S Baumgartner, daughter, Susan Lynn Workman, son, Steven Nicholas Baumgartner, sister, Carol Ann Jones, 7 grandchildren; Scott, Brian, Cameron, Brandon, Layne, Gwen, and Shannon, 6 + 1 great-grandchildren; Iliana, Alexander, Lyra, Lars, Daphne, Alex, and an expected great-granddaughter in the near future.

A private burial will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Murphy, NC.
