Jerry Kenneth Davenport

Mr. Jerry Kenneth Davenport, age 68 of Mineral Bluff, passed away September 28, 2015 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Davenport was born May 9, 1947 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Hoyt Hayden Davenport and the late Nina June Kirby Davenport. He was a veteran of the US army and served in Germany during the 60's. He was a member of Morganton Baptist Church. He and his brother Larry owned Davenport's Lakewood Supply for over 40 years. He was an avid golfer, and hunter and sportsman. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Lake Ski Club and was known by many people for his genuine kindness. He will be missed and loved by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Davenport.

Survivors include: wife, Melissa Davenport, son, Weston Seth Davenport, brother, Larry (Joan) Davenport, step-daughter, Jennifer Stewart, step grandchildren, Lance and Libby Stewart, sister-in-law, Janet Davenport, several nieces and nephews and his K 9 friend, Whiskey.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with Rev Eric Davenport officiating..

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Wednesday, September 30, 2015, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
