Jerry Ray Mann, age 72 of Murphy, passed away February 27, 2012 at the Valley View Care Center in Andrews. Jerry was born January 31, 1940 in Murphy, NC to Ella McClure Mann and Glenn Mann. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glenn Jr. and Rex W. Mann, and two sisters, Francis Mann Radford and Linda Mann McDonald.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Odell Mann, Murphy, one son, Eric Ray Mann, Greensboro, N.C., one daughter, Amber Mann, Charlotte, N.C., one granddaughter, Kelly Rae Mann, Chicago, Il., three brothers, Jake D. (Stella) Mann,Murphy, Larry Mann, Murphy, Clay Mann, Robbinsville, N.C., three sisters, Shirley (Kenneth) M. Patterson, Cummings, Ga, Betty (David) Cotheran, Hayesville, N.C. and Carolyn (Larry) Mann Mintz, Murphy. Also several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Sonny Cole officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rathbun Center, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, NC 28803
