Mr. Jessie King, age 80 of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Blairsville, GA passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at his daughters home.
Mr. King was born Friday, April 6, 1928 in Union County, GA to the late Jessie Victor King and the late Vinie Plott King. He was a member of Allegheny Lodge # 114 F&AM and a WWII Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by wife, Rosa Everett King and sister, Christine Griggs, brothers, Brown and Cliff King..
Survivors include: daughter, Marcia Howell of Gainesville, GA, granddaughter, Robin Howell of Gainesville, GA, brother, Leon King of Morganton, GA, brother, James King of Social Circle, GA, sister, Donnie Lee of Atlanta, GA, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Potts officiating. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens with military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Tuesday, March 10.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to American Heart Association.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
