Mrs. Jessie Marie Ash Brown Townsend, age 84 of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Bell Minor Home.
Marie was born Thursday, June 5, 1924 in White County, GA to the late Joseph Marion Ash and the late Ila Mae Young Ash. She was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church and retired from the public school system as a Business Educator Teacher in Dekalb, Union and Gilmer Counties. She was preceded in death by first husband, Walter Brown, brother, James R.M. Ash, sisters, Lorene Kirby and Inez Adams.
Survivors include: brother, Harold Ash of Murrayville, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Carol Ash of Yatesville, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Jack Nix of Cleveland, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Genelle and Roger Gordon of Stone Mountain, GA, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Choestoe Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Turner officiating. Music will be provided by Jo Mosley and Brenda Gordon. Interment will follow in Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Jay Graham, Jim Ash, Dwight Dye, Wayne Kirby, Mike Gordon and Hal Gordon.
The family will receive friends at Choestoe Baptist Church from 1-2 P.M., Wednesday, October 22.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
