Mr. Jim Savage, age 72, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, September 25, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Savage was born on October 25, 1936, in Kokomo, Indiana, a son of the late Henry James Savage, Sr. and Martha Wilson Savage.
He was a housing development contractor, and had lived in Blairsville since 2005, moving from Long Beach, Mississippi. Mr. Savage was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hayesville, North Carolina; a member of Allegheny Masonic Lodge, #114 F & AM; and Union County Rotary Club. He had served as a teacher at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts in Young Harris, Georgia, and was a co-founder of the Anti-Drug Coalition.
Surviving are his companion, Penny Duncan, of Blairsville; children: Henry James Savage, III, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Joyce Edwards of Blairsville; June Bendatan, Johnathan Savage, and Jennifer Savage, all of Miami, Florida; sisters: Caroline DiNoto, of The Woodlands, Texas and Kathryn Gomez, of Miami; four grandchildren also survive.
Mr Savage's memorial service will be held on Sunday October 25, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hayesville, North Carolina.
