Mr. Joseph J. Jankauskas, age 81 of Epworth, passed away June 1, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family, music, and things he loved. Born February 24, 1930 in Hudson, New Hampshire, the oldest son of Joseph C. and Marion Jankauskas. He leaves a brother, Edward, and was preceded in death by his sister Marion Czarnonka. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. serving in the Korean War. He spent his adult life as a master carpenter and owned and operated Hudson Concrete Company. In later years, he worked, at the Seabrook, NH, and retired as the maintenance man for Exeter Housing Authority in Exeter, NH in 1996. "Grandpa Joe" was an avid hunter and fisherman who also loved gardening and woodworking. He had a great love of the outdoors and nature. Besides his wife of 57 years, the former Alice Galipeau, he leaves 2 daughters and 2 sons, Susan and Richard Warren of Epworth, GA, Karen and Ray Slaugenhoup of Kittery, Maine, Steven and Linda Jankauskas of Greenland, NH, and Jason and Lisa Jankauskas of Winner, SD. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, Jessica and Cory Collogan, Aimee Warren, Abby and Jeremy Larose, Robert Slagenhoup, Jodie Lee and Steven Jankauskas, Jr., and Elizabeth and Katherine Jankauskas. He also leaves two precious great-grandchildren, Jared Larose and Kyra Anne Warren. His kindness, generosity, and genuine love of people touched many lives and made this world a better place. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June4, 2011 at 6:00pm in the Henry Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Father, John Conway officiating and North Georgia Honor Guard presenting.
