Kent Kelley

December 14, 1959 — April 13, 2007

Kent Kelley, age 47 of Blairsville, GA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 13, 2007 at Union General Hospital.

Kent was born Monday, December 14, 1959 in Miami, Flordia to the late Clarence Kelley, Jr. and Connie Kelley of Blairsville. He had lived in Miami until moving to Blairsville in 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blairsville and was past Commander, Lt. Commander, Adjutant and Chaplain of Sons of Confederate Veterans. Kent was a Little League Coach of K-Land Jr. Varsity in Miami.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, are his brother and sister-in-law, Rusty and Sylvia Kelley of Blairsville, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Charmaine and Mike Buttrill of Blairsville , GA, nephew, Rodney Raymond Kelley, nieces, Jamie Kelley, Cristal Kelley, Adrienne Pitre and Karen Pitre.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Jerry Karnes officiating. Music will be provided by, Terry Hooper. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are: Homer Payne, Ernie Kamber, Sr., Gollie Easter, Bill Holland, Jim Mason, Lester Sutton, George Radcliffe and Horace Plott. Honorary pallbearers include: members of Boaz Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-6, Sunday, April 15.

In lieu of flowers, Kent requested that memorial donations be made to: International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Isaiah 58 Project, 30 North LaSalle St., Suite 2600, Chicago, IL 60602-3356.

Kent was an inspiration to all that knew him.
