Mr. Larry Gene Alford, age 64 of Blue Ridge, passed away August 21, 2012 at his home. Mr. Alford was born July 27, 1948 in Cherokee County, GA, to James Alford and Elizabeth Wacaster Colley. A member of Temple Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, he was preceded in death by father, James Alford, mother & step-father, Elizabeth & Jr. Colley, & brother, Terry Alford.

Survivors include: wife, Sherry Alford, son, Chris Alford, daughter, Tracy Bradley, sister, Judy & Stanley Peck, sister, Cindy Peardon, sister-in-law, Kim (Jr.) Deal, brother-in-law, Jeff Dockery, best friend, Jim Gindorff, grandchildren; Devan Morris, Damon Morris, & Brooke Waters, special grandchildren; Jaron Deal, Jordan Deal, Taylor Deal & Madelyn Waters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24th at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Chapel at 2:00pm with the Rev. Terry Sandidge & Rev. Steve Roath officiating. Music provided by David Anderson. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park. Requested pallbearers: Dennis Chapman, Jeff Dockrey, Jerry Sisson, Frank Pless, Jimmy Dickey, Jerry Parris, Scott Millsaps, Bill Callihan. Honorary pallbearers: Wade Woody, Art Perryman, Jimmy Hopkins, Jr., Jr. Deal, Hank Davenport, Leon Davenport, Greg Alford, Mitchell Alford.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Thursday, August 23rd from 6:00-9:00pm.

Family is accepting flowers and donations in memory of Mr. Alford to the Ridge Community Church Building Fund.
