Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Leslie Canning Gillespie, age 85, of Young Harris, Georgia, who passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010, in Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia
Mrs. Gillespie was born on April 7, 1925, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a daughter of the late Eugene A. Canning and Margaret Boynton Canning. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence United Methodist Church.
Surviving family members include her loving husband, Rev. Dr. Charles A. Gillespie; two sons: Charles A. Gillespie, Jr., and David C. Gillespie; a sister, Jean Shirley Clancy; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at Providence United Methodist Church, with Rev. Darris Baker officiating. Special music will be presented by Mary Ann Fox. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted; however, if you desire to do so, memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, c/o Pat Mason, 354 Chastain Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
