Liz Nichols Garrett

Mrs. Liz Nichols Garrett, age 73 of Hiawassee, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Northside Hospital-Forsyth. Mrs. Garrett was born September 8, 1942 in Flat Creek, AL to Otis and Elva McGough Nichols. Mrs. Garrett was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother who loved God absolutely. Liz loved to cook, always making everything from scratch.She enjoyed traveling and taking care of her dachshunds. She was born in Lower Alabama but had lived most of her life in North Georgia. Liz was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, W.C. Garrett, in March of this year.

Survivors include: son, Rodney N (Connie) Garrett of Gainesville, GA, daughter, Anetra (Larry) Jones of Sylva, NC, son, Timothy (Sarah) Garrett of Gainesville, Brother, Ray Nichols of Griffin, GA, and grandchildren, Nole Jones, Holt Jones, Andrew Stephenson, Teresa Roth, Michael Garrett, Mariam Reece, Brandy Tanner, Nathan Tanner and Moriah Garrett.

Funeral services: Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Pastor Danny Byers officiating. Music provided by: Jeannie Garrett. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee. Pallbearers: Rodney N Garrett, Timothy Garrett, Nole Jones, Holt Jones, Andrew Stephenson, Michael Garrett, and Larry Jones.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Friday, May 20, 2016, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
