Mrs. Louise Chastain, age 89 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 in Chatuge Regional Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Mrs. Chastain was born Wednesday, October 15, 1919 in Towns, GA, to the late Louis Canup and Ella Burch Canup. She was a member of Old Union Baptist Church and was preceded in death by, husband, Vea Chastain and baby daughter, Tincy Chastain.

Surviviors include; sons, Roy (Myrtle) Chastain of Helen, GA, Ralph (Marsha) Chastain of Helen, GA, daughter(s) Betty Webb of Sparks, NV, Janie (Gary) Berrong of Hiawassee, GA, Lou (Henry) Malpartida of Miami, FL, Judy (Burl) Turesdell of LaMirada, CA, Bobbie (Doug) Lee of Gainesville, GA, four grandsons, two granddaughters, four great granddaughters, one great grandson, three great great grandsons, three great great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Hogsed officiating. Music will be provided by, Bobby Taylor. Serving as pallbearers are: Stanley Etris, J.B. Edwards, Jerry Nichols, Doug Lee and Henry Malpartida. Interment will follow in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Young Harris, GA
The family will recieve friends Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
