Lucille Hale Huston

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Lucille Huston, age 94, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at Union County Nursing Home.

Mrs. Huston was born August 18, 1921 in Union County, Illinois, to Zeph and Mary Hale. She lived in Blairsville for the past 35 years, coming from Venice, Florida upon retirement. First and foremost, she was a loving wife and homemaker; also working in her later years as a bookkeeper for Southern Spring and Stamping in Venice, Florida. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, poetry and reading, and thoroughly enjoyed visiting her many good friends and neighbors in Blairsville.

Mrs. Huston was preceded in death in 2003 by Masel Huston, her loving husband of 65 years; and in 2015 by her son, Trevor Lee Huston, of Venice, Florida. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and F.C. Collins, of Blairsville, Georgia; two granddaughters, Rene Bowler of Tampa, Florida and Christina Zalud of Venice, Florida; and one great-grandson, Brodie Zalud.

A private family service will be held. If you wish, a memorial contribution may be made to Humane Society's Mountain Shelter in Blairsville, or to a charity of your choice.
