Lucy Dunn Allen

Mrs. Lucy Dunn Allen, age 84 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Pruitt Jasper Nursing Home. Mrs. Allen was born January 31, 1931 in Fannin County, GA to the late John Henry Dunn and the late Annie Payne Dunn. She was a life-long member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, which she loved dearly. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower beds and also feeding and watching birds. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ed Allen, daughter, Linda Allen Bailey, an infant daughter, Mary Ann Allen, infant son, David Wayne Allen, two grandchildren, Jordan and Jared Newton, four sisters, Wealthy Patterson, Minie Addison, Ethel Allen and Bangel Dunn, and four brothers, Harvey Dunn, Charlie Dunn, Major Dunn, and Amos Dunn.

Survivors include: daughter, Joyce and (Grady) Ray, daughter, Janice and (John) Newton, son-in-law, Glenn "Tinker" Bailey, one brother, Billy and (Patty) Dunn of Flowery Branch, GA, grandchildren, Tommy Bailey, Kristi Bailey Tipton, Amanda Newton, Jonathan and (Brittany) Newton, and Alison and (Bill) Gunter, great-grandchildren, Zachary and (Jessica) Payne, Monica and (Isaac) Hicks, Hannah Bailey, Megan Bailey, Henry Newton, and Harper Newton, great-great-grandchildren, Jasper Mealer, Briar Hicks, Bryleigh Hicks and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Ed O'Neal officiating. Music was provided by the O'Neal family singers. Interment will follow in the Patterson Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tommy Bailey, Zachary Payne, Jonathan Newton, Hoyt Payne, Wesley Payne, and Danny Ensley.

The family received friends Monday evening at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home from 3-9 pm.
