Michiko Hood, age 76, of Copperhill, TN passed away November 8, 2010. Michiko was born March 12, 1934 in Tokyo, Japan to Chusaburo and Miyo Nagatsuka. She was a member of the Highland, California Baptist Church.
She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She spent her life caring for others and was known by her trademark, a very bright and beautiful smile. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Michiko knew she was genuine and filled with love. She was the best mother that anyone could ask for. We were so blessed to have had her as our Mom. We have been truly touch by an angel who will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
Michiko was the proud owner of Michiko's Japanese Cooking Restaurant, that opened in 1991. Her life long dream was to share her love of cooking. Thanks to all our treasured customers that were a part of our Mom's dream, come true.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 56 years, Herbert Hoover Hood; six devoted children, Stephen Randall Hood and wife Tomie; Heidi Farrell and husband, Timothy; George Gregory Hood and wife, Donna; Kathryn Louise Gardner and husband, Randall; Sarah Michiko Davis and husband, Jason; and Randall Stephen Hood. Cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca and Robert Hood; David Avila and wife, Jamie; Dawn Bennett and husband, Aaron; Nichole Farrell and husband, Joshua; Christine Mancuso and husband, Mario; Stevie Williams, and husband, Drew; Sophia Gardner, Lillian Davis and the upcoming birth of Jaxon, the brother of Lillian and grandson of Michiko. Adored great grandchildren, Chandler, Caleb, Caiden, Chloe Avila, Haley, Kyra & Jordan Bennett, Christopher, Jason & Dalian Mancuso, Miley Williams and Shelby Farrell. She also leaves her loving immediate and extended family in Japan.
The family will receive family, friends and treasured customers, Friday November 12, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Michiko's Japanese Cooking Restaurant. Condolences may be sent to the Hood Residence at 246 Main Street, Copperhill, TN 37317.
