Mike Vernie Davenport

Mr. Mike Vernie Davenport, age 56 of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton. He was born in Gilmer County August 23, 1954 to Vernie and Eugene Stanley Davenport. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church and was employed by the Fannin County Board of Education.
Survivors include: wife, Wanda Sellers Davenport, Mother, Eugene Stanley Davenport, daughters, Sarah (Adam) Dickey and Molly Davenport, step daughter, Elisha Dockery, brother, Jessie (Margaret) Davenport, sisters, Mary Ann (Marvin) Rose and Trudy (Ralph) Hutchison, grandchildren, Hunter and Steven Dickey, nieces,nephews and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 22, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of the Henry Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Pallbearers will be ; Jeff DiRenzo, Jeff Fair, Barry Hughes, Howard Long, Bobby Loudermilk & Danny Stanley. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Kurk Conklin, Adam Dickey, Gerald Griggs, Bryan Ledford, Bill Porter & Jesse Smith. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home Monday evening from 5 till 10 PM.
