Mildred Thomas

Mildred Thomas, age 97 of Morganton, GA passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Thomas was born April 17, 1924 in Morganton, GA to the late Charles F. Hughes and the late Laura Pendergrass Hughes. A member of New Union Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thomas; daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Ray Addington; sons, Steve Thomas and Larry Jr. Thomas; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Thomas; brothers, Loyce Hughes, Clories Hughes, and Don Hughes; and sisters, Bernice Walden, Trilvia Rose, Thelma Hughes, and Venes Hughes. Mildred enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking, canning, gardening, and flowers. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Survivors include: daughters & son-in-laws, JoAnn & Don McClure and Gail & Larry Sutton; son, Ronald Raymond Thomas; daughter-in-law, Gigi Thomas; brother, Charles E. Hughes; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the New Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Jarrett officiating. Music: Trish, Emilee, & Hailee Thomas. Interment will follow in New Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Mark Thomas, Cody Thomas, Kevin Sutton, Nick McClure, Jamie McClure, Brad Thomas, Justin Thomas, John Adams, Tyler Adams, and Payton Ivester.
