Neva Davenport Henry

The Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Neva Davenport Henry, age 73 of Morganton who passed away on Saturday evening, April 15, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Henry was born in Murphy, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Ira Davenport and the late Grovie Rogers Davenport. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Besides her parents, Mrs. Henry had also been preceded in death by a sister, Sue Geer; and two brothers, Kenneth Davenport and Neal Davenport.

Surviving family members include her husband, Larry; daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Jeff Fisher, of Blairsville; daughter, Trena Taylor, and daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tommy Walton, all of Terrell, Texas; and son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Lisa Henry of Blairsville; sister, Betty Scyphers, of Woodstock, Georgia; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Special music will be presented by Martha Davenport. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 pm.
