Mrs. Nova Montine (Harper) Kephart, age 85 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Mrs. Kephart was born in Seneca, South Carolina to Thomas H. and Stella Eller Shook . She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and had a passion for gardening and travel, Mrs. Kephart was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Mr. George J. Harper, son, Barry F. Harper, parents, Thomas H and Stella Eller Shook, and brothers, Christopher T. Shook and Willard Shook.
Survivors include her husband, William T. Kephart, daughter, Barbara Dills, son and daughter-in-law, Larry T. and Yifei Harper, brothers, Mr. Floyd Shook, Mr. Norman Shook, sisters, Mrs. Jewell Jones, Mrs. Mozelle Moore, and Mrs.Kathleen Potts, with 11 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren also surviving.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Hiawassee with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. The body will lie in-state from 1 until 2 p.m. Music will be provided by Shiela and Glenn Eller. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Monday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers, Jeffery Heddon, Wayne Potts, Larry T. Harper Jr., Christopher J. Harper, Michael R. Harper, and John Dreskist.
